5–6 p.m. | VIP Exhibition Viewing
A special opportunity to view “Laura Aguilar: Body and Landscape,” featuring evocative photographs by Aguilar from the 1980s through the early 2000s. As a Chicana lesbian artist, Aguilar explored intersections of land, identity, and community.
6–7 p.m. | VIP Reception
Enjoy an exclusive cocktail reception on the south terrace of the Huntington Art Gallery, with a special performance by the Gay Freedom Band of Los Angeles.
7–10 p.m. | The Party
The evening garden party will feature a special performance, as well as music, specialty cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and dancing under the stars among a rainbow of blooms in the Rose Garden.

Gay Freedom Band of Los Angeles
Since its establishment, the Gay Freedom Band of Los Angeles was both a leader in the gay community and an advocate for equality and acceptance throughout Southern California. Originally called the Great American Yankee Freedom Band of Los Angeles, the all-volunteer organization was founded in 1978 to lead the annual Gay Pride Parade. The band was one of the original eight gay bands that founded the Pride Bands Alliance.
Laura Aguilar: Body and Landscape
Drawn from recent acquisitions from Laura Aguilar’s estate, “Body and Landscape” traces Aguilar’s groundbreaking use of self-portraiture within the natural environments of Southern California and the Southwest, reframing the Western landscape as a site of personal power, resilience, and reclamation.
Pride Poets
Pride Poets brings together talented poets from the LGBTQ+ community to write and share their work, paying tribute to their experiences, capturing their stories, and spreading love. The organization was founded by Brian Sonia-Wallace, who holds the esteemed positions of West Hollywood City Poet Laureate and 2021-22 Academy of America Poets Laureate Fellow for LGBTQ+ literary activism.
